The Gift of Life

How we support midwives in the Third World

Helping mothers and babies survive and thrive after birth...

Volunteer midwives in Burkina Faso receive training in everything from pre and postnatal care to HIV awareness.

Once they qualify they get a midwifery kit which allows them to start their work. These simple kits help newly trained midwives save the lives of both mothers and newborn babies.

The midwifery kits contain items such as gloves, soap, bandages to prevent infection, and sterilized razor blades to cut the umbilical cord safely.

Gifts like these vital kits for midwives really are gifts of life.

Here is the website of one of the charities we sponsor that provides midwife kits:

10% of the cost of your home birth kit will provide a home birth kit in Burkina Faso.
